This 4 Ingredient Chaga Mushroom Coffee with Espresso recipe is going to be my go-to drink this summer (along with my Watermelon Lemon Ginger Juice Wellness Shots Recipe)!

The Chaga powder is refreshing, energizing, and packed with antioxidants and adaptogens to keep you alive and well (or bring you back to life) during these hot summer days ahead. ☀️

You can use regular coffee instead of espresso, or simply drink the Renude Chagaccino superfood coffee boost with some milk. It’s also great served with hot coffee rather than iced! ☕

4 Ingredient Chaga Mushroom Iced Coffee with Espresso

You may be wondering why the words “mushroom” and “coffee” are in the same sentence. Don’t worry, I’m here to cover all the nutritious and delicious details for you. 🍄☕

Stick around to learn all about the best mushroom coffee boost, the amazing health benefits of the Chaga mushroom and why it needs to be in your coffee, my favorite easy-to-use automatic espresso machine and coffee beans, and of course, how to make the best 4 Ingredient Chaga Mushroom Iced Coffee Recipe!

As I mentioned, Chagaccino is just as delicious in hot coffee. In the colder months, I like to add a packet of chaga powder to a coffee mug, brew a shot of espresso and a cup of coffee over it, then give it a stir. It mixes easily into both hot and cold beverages. ☕

The Best Mushroom Coffee Boost:

The secret ingredient that makes this iced coffee so crave-able is the Chagaccino. It’s a chaga mushroom superfood coffee boost, and my favorite mushroom-based coffee product on the market.

You have to trust me when I tell you, it doesn’t taste like mushrooms. Just ask Jon, my mushroom-hating husband! If this had even the slightest mushroom flavor, he wouldn’t go near it. I’m surprised I was able to get him to try it! But he ended up loving it. ☺️

Instead of mushrooms, imagine the taste of a perfectly sweetened cinnamon mocha iced coffee (with a double shot of espresso because this girl loves her caffeine). ☕

What is in a Chagaccino?

These are the ingredients in a Chagaccino:

  • 100% Wild Foraged Chaga: Adds an earthy flavor to the Chaga coffee.

  • Organic Peruvian Cacao: Provides a rich, chocolatey taste.

  • Organic Ceylon Cinnamon: Adds warmth and depth to the Chagaccino.

  • Monk Fruit Sweetener: Offers sweetness without the calories of sugar.

Although I don’t follow these diets (or any diet for that matter); a lot of you will be happy to know that Chagaccino is vegan, keto, and gluten-free. It’s also sugar-free thanks to the natural monk fruit sweetener!

Chaga Mushroom Health Benefits:

I’m always looking for the best vitamins and supplements for women, and ways I can improve and protect my health. I was intrigued when I began reading about the amazing health benefits of chaga mushrooms! They are said to have potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and may also:

  • Boost Immunity: Chaga is an immune-boosting beast of a mushroom! It improves immune function because it acts as a natural antimicrobial and immunomodulator. It’s also a strong antibacterial and antiviral, helping protect against colds and flu.

  • Benefit Cognitive Function: It may increase the availability of Acetylcholine (ACh); a neurotransmitter in the brain that is involved in memory and learning.

  • Relieve Stress: Being one of the few adaptogens in the world, it helps the body adapt to mental and physical stress.

  • Have Anti-Aging Properties: Chaga contains the highest source of melanin in the world, which improves the pigment in your skin, eyes, and overall radiance. Melanin is also well known for expanding the pineal gland.

  • Improve Gut Health: Due to its prebiotic and probiotic properties, chaga has long been used to support gastrointestinal health. Ulcers may be soothed by the use of chaga.

  • Balance pH: Chaga is the most alkaline food on the planet. It will offset the acidity of coffee to bring your pH back into balance due to its vast mineral content, including calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, and sulfur.

Gaggia Magenta: Favorite Easy-to-use Automatic Espresso Machine

You don’t need to be a barista to operate this easy-to-use automatic espresso machine, although it does make me feel like one!

If you’re anything like me, you love espresso but hate spending a ridiculous amount of money on that venti quadruple espresso shot macchiato (or whatever 🤣). That’s why I’m so thankful to have this Gaggia Magenta Prestige espresso machine. It’s our first one ever, and a huge upgrade from the basic Keurig we’ve had for years. The flavor and quality of each coffee is so much better!

Automatic Functions and Customization Options – Gaggia Magenta Prestige

The functions on the full-color digital screen are so easy to navigate, I almost got away with figuring out how to work the espresso machine without reading the directions (I’m stubborn that way); however, my husband wasn’t having it. He reads the directions for everything (even the silliest, most self-explanatory products). 🤪 I will say he was right in this situation because if I hadn’t read the directions, I would have missed the manual rinse cycle that is required during the first installation. Oops!

You can easily customize beverages and save your favorite settings, which include:

  • Coffee/espresso amount and temperature

  • Brewing one or two cups at a time

  • Aroma intensity (very light, light, normal, strong, very strong)

The Gaggia Magenta Prestige espresso machine has a built-in coffee bean grinder (currently loving Lavazza Gran Riserva Whole Bean) but using pre-ground coffee is possible as well. You can select from five different grinding settings (the smaller the bar, the stronger and richer the coffee).

I can’t express enough how much I love my Gaggia Magenta Prestige espresso machine! I’m thoroughly excited to use it every morning when I wake up (and a couple more times throughout the day because coffee = life). 💖☕

What is a chagaccino?

A chagaccino is a drink made with a chaga mushroom superfood blend, like Chagaccino, mixed with coffee, espresso, or milk. It has a rich, chocolate-cinnamon flavor and doesn’t taste like mushrooms.

Does a chagaccino taste like mushrooms?

No. The cacao and cinnamon in Chagaccino balance the chaga, giving it a smooth, slightly sweet flavor similar to a mocha.

Can I make this drink without coffee or espresso?

Yes! You can skip the coffee and enjoy Chagaccino on its own. Just mix the powder with hot water or milk for a caffeine-free mushroom drink.

Is Chagaccino caffeine-free?

On its own, yes. Chagaccino contains no caffeine. When paired with espresso or coffee, the caffeine comes from the coffee, not the mushroom blend.

How do I make a coffee-free chagaccino?

Stir Chagaccino powder into hot water or milk until smooth. Serve warm or over ice for a chilled version.

Can I use regular coffee instead of espresso?

Absolutely. Strong brewed coffee works just as well if you don’t have espresso.

Can I drink this hot instead of iced?

Yes. This recipe works both hot and iced. Simply skip the ice cubes if serving warm.

Is this chagaccino drink healthy?

Chagaccino contains chaga mushroom, cacao, and cinnamon, which are rich in antioxidants and adaptogens. Many people enjoy it as a wellness-focused alternative or addition to coffee.

Is this drink good for people avoiding caffeine?

Yes. The coffee-free version is completely caffeine-free and great for evenings or anyone sensitive to caffeine.

Can I make this dairy-free or vegan?

Yes. Use plant-based milk like oat, almond, or coconut to keep it dairy-free and vegan.

Can I sweeten it more?

Chagaccino is lightly sweetened with monk fruit, but you can add maple syrup, honey, or another sweetener to taste.

Can I prep this drink ahead of time?

Yes. Mix the chagaccino base ahead of time and store it in the fridge. Stir or shake before serving for best texture.

Who should avoid chaga mushroom drinks?

If you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, have kidney concerns, or take certain medications, it’s best to check with a healthcare professional before consuming chaga regularly.

Instructions

  1. BREW COFFEE + MAKE THE COFFEE ICE CUBES IN ADVANCE. Brew an 8-ounce cup of coffee in your espresso machine. Fill a small ice cube tray with coffee and freeze overnight.
  2. BREW ESPRESSO. I like to chill my espresso for iced coffee; therefore I usually brew it while I’m making the ice cubes and place it in the fridge overnight. You can add it in hot if you’re pressed for time!
  3. ADD MUSHROOM COFFEE BOOST TO GLASS. Per 16-ounce glass, add a sachet of Renude Chagaccino.
